What We Do
Our dedicated Board of Directors work tirelessly in collaboration with community organizations, the City of Chicago, and most importantly-our Chapters-to facilitate appropriate street medicine right here in our city. Our medical student-led volunteer chapters - Loyola CSM, Streeterville CSM, University of Illinois at Chicago CSM, and University of Chicago CSM - administer care through scheduled runs in partnership with a host of talented non-profits throughout our city. Together, we work to address the variety of needs that our unhoused populations face, delivering both health and care right where it is needed most: where the people are.
Nationally, there is a 32-year disparity in life expectancy between the chronically homeless and the general US population. Delivering care on the streets is a start, but we at CSM do much more than patient care.
